Samsung launches its smart light bulb for less than $10

Technology

Although it is not the first time that Samsung places special focus on the connected home, it has now been when the company has seriously launched a number of products that cover most of the spectra of the smart home, a niche in which all the technologies seem to want to enter. Within its SmartThings brand, we can highlight three extremely interesting products from smart bulbs at a very interesting price to IP cameras, through the classic connected plugs.

In particular, as we say, highlights SmartThings Smart Bulb, a smart bulb that reaches the market (American, for now) for a tremendously competitive price if we compare it with the alternatives of Xiaomi or Philips. The smart bulb of Samsung costs only, and that along with the rest of products are already available within the borders of the United States, without having transcended the arrival date to other markets such as Spanish or Latin.

Along with the SmartThings Smart Bulb, Samsung has also launched its IP camera, SmartThings Cam, which for $89.99 offers full HD video with HDR, IR for night vision, bidirectional audio, people detection and a field of view of 145 degrees. It includes backup of the cloud storage recordings for 24 hours (for up to four cameras), although we can configure it with up to 8 cameras for 30 days for $ 7.99 per month or $ 79.99 per year, again, for the US market.

The new set of products complete an intelligent plug, Smart Things Wifi Smart Plug, for $ 17.99 and next to the previous ones, the ecosystem of Samsung is fully compatible with Amazon Alexa, the Google Assistant and the Bixby voice assistants from Samsung.
