Logitech today introduced new video conferencing hardware called the RoomMate. This hardware is specially designed for conference rooms and can be used without the intervention of a computer.

The Roommate consists of a set-top box with two HDMI-out connections, one HDMI-in connection, three USB 3.0 type-a ports and one gigabit Ethernet port. In addition, the device supports WiFi 5 and Bluetooth.

The video conferencing equipment can handle Zoom Dashboard, Microsoft Teams Admin Center and Logitech Sync, among others. The RoomMate is also compatible with Logitech’s own MeetUp cameras as well as the Rally System, Rally Plus System, Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini and Rally camera. The system can also handle GoTo, Pexip and RingCentral.

The RoomMate will cost 999 euros and the suggested retail price of the Rally Bar starts at 3999 euros. The Rally Bar Mini will be available from 2999 euros. Logitech has not yet announced when the devices will hit the market.
