Yesterday Apple held its developer event WWDC19, in San Jose, California, where the Cupertino firm presented the “Find My” application, which integrates the functions of “Find my iPhone” and “Find my Friends” in one single app and that has as main attraction, locate devices that are not connected to the internet.
Thanks to this new app, Apple users will be able to locate their devices and those of their friends and family without the need of an internet connection, as long as they have previously been allowed access to their location.
This is possible thanks to a Bluetooth signal that will be issued by the Cupertino signature devices that will cause the devices of the same brand around them to react. This signal would be sent directly to Apple and then back to the owner of the device. Apple said everything is encrypted from end to end, and the new app will not affect data usage, battery life or privacy.
