Facebook announces Oculus Link, a stand-alone Quest to enjoy PC games

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook at the stage of the Oculus Connect 6 conference, will further blur the boundaries between standalone VR (virtual reality) headsets and PC content with a November software update Announced.

Oculus Link allows users to connect Oculus Quest to a PC via USB-C, and to play PC content that consumes more power with higher-quality graphics than the current headset with a mobile chipset.

I still don’t know the limitations of the system. The recent USB-C code seems to be usable, but it needs something that can pass through the power supply. Given that Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S share many system specs, it’s clear that Facebook is leaving PC VR behind the standalone Oculus Quest.
