US President Donald Trump has tested negative for the new coronavirus, according to a note published Saturday evening by White House doctor Dr. Sean Conley.

“Last night, after a substantive discussion with the president about the COVID-19 test, he chose to be tested,” wrote Dr. Conley in the note. “Tonight I received confirmation of a negative result.”

At a press conference held at the White House rose garden on Friday, journalists asked Trump why he had not been tested after being in contact with a member of the delegation last weekend Brazilian who had tested positive for the new coronavirus.

At a press briefing earlier today, Mr. Trump confirmed that he had passed the test for the virus.
