In the first seven months of the year, Tesla took the lead in selling electric cars and Portugal, overtaking Nissan. The American company founded by Elon Musk sold 1255 vehicles in the domestic market, according to data from ACAP – Portuguese Automobile Trade Association, reports the newspaper Público.
Model 3 accounted for most of the sales. Between January and July, 941 Model 3, 182 Model S and 132 Model X were sold.
In the ranking by models, is still Nissan to take the cup, with 1108 Leaf sold in Portugal in the period analyzed. Next is the Model 3 and thirdly the Renault Zoe, with 627 vehicles sold.
In all, the first seven months of 2019, 4341 electric vehicles were placed on the Portuguese market, double the value registered in the same period of the previous year.
