Monument Health uses more than a dozen generative artificial intelligence applications within its Epic EHR system.
The Rapid City, S.D.-based health system said clinicians are already using these tools, with adoption rates exceeding the national average among health systems using the same EHR, according to an April 14 news release.
Monument Health has also implemented AI-powered features such as inpatient and outpatient data summaries that compile key patient information ahead of visits. It also uses AI in radiology workflows to identify findings such as lung nodules and flag them for follow-up. Other applications include tools that help clinicians draft patient-friendly communications and produce complex documents such as hospital course summaries.
