Unfortunately, you should not count on new features.
In addition to the release of iOS 13.4, Apple is releasing a new update for its older devices. The Californian firm keeps track of its dated operating systems securely, despite having released a more modern version.
Obviously, devices incompatible with iOS 13 do not benefit from the latest innovations, but Apple still brings corrective updates. Thus, possible bugs in iOS 12 are fixed, but also potential security vulnerabilities.
This is also the case for older iPads that are not compatible with iPadOS. Apple Watch and Mac not compatible with the latest version of watchOS and macOS also benefit from a security update.
Not offering the new features to older devices is a way for Apple to push owners to be tempted by a newer product.
The devices affected by this update are: iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3 and 6th generation iPod touch. Owners can install iOS 12.4.6 from the Settings of their device, General option then Software update.
