Bon Secours Mercy leads $7M investment in workforce startup

Press Release

Accrete Health Partners, the digital venture arm of Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health, is leading a $7 million series A investment in workforce startup Definity.

The company offers a vendor-neutral staffing platform for hospitals and health systems. Bon Secours Mercy Health, a 48-hospital system, has signed on as a strategic partner to better manage its temporary workforce and develop a data-driven labor strategy, and its chief people officer, Allan Calonge will join Definity’s board.

“Definity represents the type of purpose-built, health system-designed innovation we look to support through Accrete Health Partners,” said Cyril Philip, vice president of digital ventures at Bon Secours Mercy Health and Accrete Health Partners, in a March 17 news release. “Being at the front end of their journey alongside BSMH operational leadership allows us to do more than invest; it gives us the opportunity to help shape a platform that simplifies workforce management and delivers measurable impact for health systems.”
