Signature Healthcare continues diverting ambulances amid cyber incident

Press Release

Brockton, Mass.-based Signature Healthcare and Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital are still diverting ambulance traffic as they respond to a cybersecurity incident that began April 6.

In an April 7 update shared with Becker’s, the health system said many of its electronic systems remain offline and chemotherapy treatments, which were previously canceled, are beginning to resume.

Requests for copies of patient medical records are temporarily unavailable, and new prescription orders cannot be filled. However, surgeries and procedures are continuing as scheduled, and inpatient and walk-in emergency services remain open.

The health system said its investigation into the incident is ongoing and that it has not determined whether any patient information has been affected or provided a timeline for restoring its electronic systems.
