Parkland Health adds 2 inpatient units, 112 beds

Press Release

Dallas-based Parkland Memorial Hospital is opening two new inpatient units and adding 112 beds over the next six months.

The first unit will open with 56 beds on June 1 and the second unit, also with 56 beds, will open in October, according to an April 16 system news release. The units will be built in a shell space and will bring the total licensed beds up to more than 980. The additional beds will improve patient flow, cut ED wait times and address current and future capacity needs.

The first phase of the expansion will open ahead of the 2026 World Cup; Dallas will be one of the host cities this summer.
