Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., is partnering with two Oregon community colleges to create direct pathways for students pursuing Doctor of Pharmacy degrees, beginning in spring 2026. They are Chemeketa Community College in Salem and Umpqua Community College in Roseburg.
The partnerships allow students to complete pre-pharmacy coursework at the colleges before transitioning into Pacific’s three- or five-year Doctor of Pharmacy programs, both based at the university’s Hillsboro campus, according to a March 10 news release.
The initiative aims to strengthen Oregon’s healthcare workforce by expanding access to pharmacy education, Pacific said. Students in the pathway programs will receive early application support, waived fees and the opportunity to join Pacific’s Jump Start Early Assurance Program for conditional admission.
Pacific has offered an accelerated three-year pharmacy program since 2006. In 2023, it launched the nation’s first extended five-year option for students balancing work or family responsibilities.
