New York hospital unveils $53M in construction projects

Press Release

Niagara Falls (N.Y.) Memorial Medical Center has received the New York State Department of Health’s approval to kick off a $53 million construction and renovation program, with the first phase to begin immediately.

The initial $6.5 million phase was greenlit by the health department and will add multiple specialized medical services to the hospital’s main building on its 10th Street campus, according to a Jan. 13 news release. New services include a wound center and hyperbaric center, a vascular center and vascular lab, surgical office suites, exam and minor procedure rooms, and new private medical office suites.

Additional projects part of the program will occur in stages through 2026 and 2027, and include a 430-car attached parking garage, a 12-bed ICU step-down unit, and renovations to its medical and surgical floor and women’s pavilion.

“This ambitious program reflects NFMMC’s vision for the future of healthcare in Niagara and our dedication to providing state-of-the-art facilities for patients, families, and staff,” Joseph Ruffolo, president and CEO, said in the release. “We are investing in both specialized care and infrastructure to ensure our community has access to the highest quality medical services.”
