Every year during Thanksgiving in New York City, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is hosted: a few hour-long parade with huge balloons based on famous characters from TV shows and movies.
This year the parade was slightly shorter due to corona measures, the parade was so short that some people actually regretted going there. Still, quite a few strange ‘floats’ have passed!
Classic look
One of those impressive balloons that passed in the parade (which was mostly watched on TV) was based on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson! The balloon was very much like The Rock’s iconic ’90s look, with its raised eyebrow, black turtleneck, silver chain and fanny pack. The fanny pack alone was filled with 1416 cubic meters of helium.

Young Rock
The well-known actor and producer also tweeted a video of the balloon himself, which is actually a marketing stunt for a new Johnson project. Next year there will be a new comedy series on NBC called Young Rock, which is about the youth of The Rock.
The full parade can be viewed via this link. One of the gigs has something to do with the 25th anniversary of Pokémon, before that a lot of Pikachu’s came along.
