Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth has broken ground on AdventHealth New Port Richey (Fla.) ER, a $27 million freestanding emergency department.
The more than 13,000-square-foot facility will comprise 12 patient beds, comprehensive emergency services, on-site imaging with X-ray and CT capabilities, portable ultrasound, a dedicated emergency department laboratory, three treatment bays and a triage room, according to an April 10 news release shared with Becker’s.
AdventHealth New Port Richey ER is expected to create approximately 35 jobs, and will expand the system’s footprint in Pasco County, Fla. The freestanding ED is expected to open in 2027.
“This new emergency department will give care teams the tools they need to respond quickly and effectively, while allowing patients to receive care closer to home,” Matthew Smith, DO, an associate medical director of emergency medicine physician at AdventHealth North Pinellas who will practice in the new facility, said in the release.
