Pittsburgh-based UPMC has received a $1.25 million commitment from the Better Together Fund, established by First Quality Enterprises, a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of personal care and healthcare products, according to a March 4 news release shared with Becker’s.
The investment will support care quality, patient and family experience, and priority needs at UPMC hospitals and outpatient sites in Lycoming and Clinton counties in North Central Pennsylvania.
“By establishing the Better Together Fund, First Quality continues to stand beside our community in a meaningful and impactful way,” Sherry Watts, president of the Susquehanna Health Foundation — the philanthropic arm of UPMC in North Central Pennsylvania — said in the release. “This gift will have a lasting and profound impact on patients and families across our region.”
UPMC is a $30 billion nonprofit healthcare provider and insurer. It includes more than 40 hospitals, 800 outpatient sites, over 5,000 employed physicians and 100,000 staff. Its insurance division covers more than 4 million members.
