The M Health Fairview brand will be phased out in 2027 as part of a broader restructuring between Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services and the University of Minnesota, Minnesota Star Tribune reported Jan. 30.
The branding and marketing agreement will end Dec. 31, 2026, and beginning in 2027, the M Health Fairview logo will be removed from Fairview-operated community hospitals and clinics not located on the university’s campus.
“It’s safe to say the community hospitals will be rebranded to Fairview,” the health system said in a statement cited by Star Tribune.
The M Health Fairview name launched in 2019 as part of a renewed partnership among the university, Fairview and University of Minnesota Physicians. The rebranding marks a shift away from the joint clinical identity the organizations shared for nearly a decade.
The name change coincides with the start of a new 10-year agreement among the three organizations, which resets the terms of their partnership from a joint clinical enterprise to an academic affiliation. That agreement, announced Jan. 26 after seven weeks of mediation led by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office, includes major investments in university medical facilities and ongoing financial support for the University of Minnesota Medical School, Becker’s previously reported.
