Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare has launched an initiative to modernize and standardize ultrasound technology across its hospitals and clinics.
Over the next three years, OSF plans to upgrade 139 ultrasound units used in women’s health, general radiology and breast imaging, according to a Jan. 28 news release from the health system. The phased deployment is intended to minimize patient care disruption while ensuring all facilities have access to consistent and advanced imaging systems.
The upgrades will include standardized configurations for probes, software and accessories to improve workflow efficiency and imaging quality across sites.
Initial clinician training will combine classroom instruction with hands-on learning, with ongoing education offered annually.
