Ex-Amazon Health leader joins Spotify founder’s health tech startup

Press Release

Sunita Mishra, MD, the former chief medical officer of Amazon Health Services, has been named to the same position at Neko Health, the tech startup said March 2.

Neko Health was co-founded by Daniel Ek, who started music streaming giant Spotify. The company has developed medical scanning technology that assesses risk for conditions like stroke and heart attack, prediabetes and skin cancer. The scans are followed by an in-person, physician-led consultation in a process that lasts under an hour.

Dr. Mishra departed Amazon Health Services in May 2025, before the company restructured its healthcare unit. She had joined the tech giant in 2020. She spent the previous five years at Renton, Wash.-based Providence, most recently as chief executive of express care.

Neko Health plans to open its first U.S. location in New York City in spring 2026.
