South Lake Tahoe, Calif.-based Barton Health became the sole governing member of Carson Valley Health, effective Jan. 21.
For 25 years, Barton Health and Renown Health jointly governed Gardnerville, Nev.-based critical access hospital under a dual membership model. The organizations agreed that Barton would become the sole member going forward.
“We understand its history and the significant role it plays in healthcare delivery. This next step reflects a shared desire to move ahead in a way that continues to ensure high-quality, accessible healthcare is available to all patients in the region,” said Clint Purvance, MD, president and CEO of Barton Health, in a news release.
The organizations said they will remain separate entities with no immediate changes to staffing or services. They plan to explore shared best practices to meet regional healthcare needs.
“We look forward to more closely aligning with the Barton Health family,” said Jeff Prater, CEO, Carson Valley Health. “This decision builds on years of collaboration and represents a natural next step in advancing Carson Valley Health’s legacy of community care.”
