Wyoming hospital CEO retires

Irene Richardson, CEO of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, Wyo., retired April 10, according to a hospital news release shared with Becker’s.

“Irene has been an important part of growing and strengthening Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County,” the hospital board said in the release. “The board is grateful for the passion and countless hours that Irene has dedicated to improving the hospital and making it a better place for patients, employees and the people of Sweetwater County.”

Ms. Richardson has been with Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County since 1985, when she began her career in the fiscal services department, according to her biography on the hospital’s website. She became director of materials management in 2007, controller in 2008, CFO in 2010 and CEO in 2017. Her retirement comes after she had been on leave.

Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County named Chief Clinical Officer Kari Quickenden, PharmD, as interim CEO. Dr. Quickenden has held her current role since 2015.

Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County is a standalone critical access hospital in southwest Wyoming with more than 600 employees.
