UHS’ CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 2025

Marc Miller, president and CEO of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services, was paid 283 times what the median system employee received in 2025, according to a proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mr. Miller’s total compensation for 2025 was $16,148,937. The median UHS employee pay was $57,048 during the year, resulting in a 283-to-1 pay ratio.

UHS reported a CEO-to-worker pay ratio of 281-to-1 in 2024. Executive Chair Alan Miller was the second-highest paid executive at $8,073,195, followed by Executive Vice President and CFO Steve Filton at $5,108,695.

UHS identified its median employee by using the greater of total annual W-2 wages for its U.S. and U.K. employees, or calculated annualized pay for employees who joined the system in 2025 or were on leave. The employee population included full-time, part-time and temporary workers, which reduced the overall median annual compensation, UHS said in the filing.

Public companies are required by the SEC to disclose the ratio of CEO compensation to median employee pay annually.
