Houston-based Nutex Health has reopened Humble, Texas-based Bayou City ER & Hospital. The facility, formerly known as SE Texas ER & Hospital, closed in 2024.
The 40,000-square-foot facility comprises eight emergency room beds, 46 inpatient beds and advanced imaging technology such as CT scans, X-rays and ultrasound. It will also offer 24/7 emergency and inpatient care, according to a Jan. 12 news release.
Laura Rodriguez, RN, Bayou City ER & Hospital’s chief administrative officer and chief nursing officer, shared plans for the facility to reopen in late December.
“Our vision is to transform healthcare delivery by providing specialized services for patients with unique needs-such as behavioral health, medical detox and other challenging conditions-which traditional systems struggle to treat efficiently,” Tom Vo, MD, chairman and CEO of Nutex Health, said in the release. “By expanding these critical resources, we aim to not only improve individual lives but also strengthen the overall health and resilience of the community.”
Nutex Health is a physician-led health system that comprises 27 micro hospitals and hospital outpatient departments across 12 states.
