Oracle Health has launched its Clinical AI Agent note generation tool for inpatient and emergency department settings in the U.S., expanding the technology beyond ambulatory care.
The tool automatically generates draft clinical notes by organizing symptoms, treatments and other encounter details into a single document clinicians can review, edit and sign, according to a March 11 company press release. It pulls from data in the Oracle Health Foundation EHR, including triage notes, exam documentation and test results.
AtlantiCare in Atlantic City, N.J., recently expanded use of the technology to all of its emergency departments after previously deploying it in ambulatory settings. The health system reported a 41% reduction in documentation time in ambulatory care and said the expansion has helped streamline workflows in high-acuity environments.
The system can generate multiple types of documentation per encounter, including admission and progress notes, and is designed to recognize voices from patients, caregivers and clinicians to produce context-aware records.
Since launching just over a year ago, Oracle said the AI tool has saved physicians more than 200,000 hours of documentation time across U.S. providers.
