Joe Hurshe, president of Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Mich., is no longer with the organization, effective Feb. 2.
“We extend our gratitude to Joe for the contributions he has made to Munson Healthcare over the last two years,” Laura Glenn, COO of Munson Healthcare, said in a Feb. 2 statement shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Hurshe previously spent 14 years with St. Louis-based Ascension, including time as COO of Ascension Michigan.
Kathy LaRaia, Munson Healthcare’s vice president of oncology and professional services, was appointed interim president.
“I want to acknowledge there has been a lot of change in the healthcare industry and at Munson since the global pandemic,” Ms. Glenn said. “However, our commitment to our patients and communities hasn’t changed. I am confident our dedicated team will continue to deliver quality, compassionate care at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City under Kathy’s leadership.”
Traverse City-based Munson Healthcare operates eight hospitals with a combined 694 licensed acute care beds.
