Nantucket (Mass.) Cottage Hospital named Amy Beaton, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer, the Nantucket Current reported March 17.
Ms. Beaton will oversee nursing care across the hospital’s inpatient, emergency, perioperative, procedural and ambulatory services.
She has held several director positions at the hospital and most recently served as interim chief nursing officer. Her appointment to CNO comes more than a year after the hospital’s former chief nurse, Aimee Carew-Lyons, PhD, RN, was laid off along with hundreds of employees, the report said.
Nantucket Cottage Hospital is part of the Mass General Brigham system, which is based in Somerville, Mass. The layoffs in March 2025 were part of a strategic reorganization to stabilize finances across the 12-hospital system.
