Kentucky system expands roles for 2 nursing leaders

Owensboro (Ky.) Health, a three-hospital system, recently expanded the roles of two nursing leaders with system-level focuses on patient safety, quality and nursing practices.

Joni Sims, MSN, RN, has been named senior vice president of patient care services and system chief nursing officer. She previously served as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Sims joined the organization nearly 40 years ago as a bedside nurse, according to a system news release.

Jessica Crisp, MSN, RN, has been appointed vice president, associate chief nursing officer and system quality leader. She most recently served as executive quality director and brings more than 21 years of experience with Owensboro Health.

In their expanded roles, Ms. Sims and Ms. Crisp will help lead systemwide efforts to advance clinical quality, patient safety and nursing standards across the organization.
