West Burlington, Iowa-based Great River Health will implement Epic’s MyChart patient portal beginning June 6.
The rollout is part of the system’s broader transition to Epic’s electronic health record. The portal will allow patients to view test results, schedule and manage appointments, request prescription refills and message providers, according to a March 2 news release. It also offers shared access for family members and integrates records from other participating organizations.
Health system leaders said the change represents an investment in their patients’ experience and the transition will also support stronger care coordination with external hospitals and clinics.
Great River Health is replacing its current Cerner EHR as part of a broader digital transformation effort. Educational resources will be available ahead of the go-live date.
