Epic is inviting app developers and other healthcare experts to its headquarters in Wisconsin to build a more connected data ecosystem.
The second annual Open@Epic conference will take place in October in Verona, Wis. Since the first event, held in September, monthly patient-directed data exchanges using Epic APIs grew from about 3.1 billion to 3.7 billion, according to an April 6 news release.
There are also more than 1,000 apps on Epic’s Showroom marketplace, up by over 290 since September. The number of apps with the Toolbox designation for Epic integration increased by about 20%, and the number of developers with more than one Toolbox listing is up by nearly 40%. The EHR giant has also experienced a 25% hike in the number of developers using its Vendor Services program for Epic support.
