Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health has been using Epic’s new Agent Factory, which creates and monitors agentic AI tools that reason, decide and act within workflows.
“By combining Epic’s Agent Factory Platform capabilities with Advocate Health’s scale, clinical insight, and commitment to innovation, we’re translating AI from promise into practice — improving experiences for teammates, strengthening clinical decision‑making, and helping care teams focus on patient care,” Andy Crowder, senior vice president and chief digital and AI officer at Advocate Health, posted March 26 on LinkedIn.
He pointed to a three-day Epic immersion at The Pearl innovation district in Charlotte focused on speeding up pharmacy verification for complex medications and cutting infusion chart prep time for pharmacists and nurses. The event generated four working prototypes targeted to go live in July.
“Together, we’re advancing responsible, practical AI that fits naturally into clinical workflows, reduces friction, and gives clinicians back time to focus on what matters most: caring for patients and supporting one another,” Mr. Crowder wrote.
