San Luis Obispo, Calif.-based Adventist Health Sierra Vista has received approval for a $220 million expansion project, the Paso Robles Daily News reported Jan. 19.
Planning is underway for the project aimed at increasing capacity, supporting new technology, and expanding services locally to reduce the need for patients to seek complex care outside of the region, according to the report. Construction is expected to start in 2028.
The project calls for the following:
- A new emergency department and trauma center
- New labor and delivery and postpartum units
- New operating and procedure rooms
- A new intensive care unit
- Remodeled inpatient rooms to enhance comfort, healing and the overall patient experience
