Hospital and health system CEOs across the U.S. have made several moves recently, including appointments at new organizations and departures.
Some executives have remained with their organizations in expanded roles overseeing multiple facilities, as some systems eliminate individual hospital CEO positions in favor of regional leadership models.
Meanwhile, CEO turnover — including retirements and resignations — has remained high.

Jan. 23-27
1. Richard Duvall resigned as president and CEO of Ogdensburg, N.Y.-based North Star Health Alliance.
2. Joel Helmke was named CEO of the Knight Cancer Group, part of the Knight Cancer Institute at Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University.
3. Nathan Staggs was dismissed as CEO of Coupeville, Wash.-based WhidbeyHealth, a decision that was then reversed during a Jan. 22 board meeting.
4. Alison Dulfer was named CEO of Woodland Springs Behavioral Health in Conroe, Texas.
5. Geoffrey Hall was appointed CEO of Virginia Mason Franciscan Rehabilitation Hospital in Tacoma, Wash.
6. Ellen Moss was named CEO of University Hospitals Avon (Ohio) Rehabilitation Hospital and University Hospitals Rehabilitation Hospital in Beachwood, Ohio.
7. Vera Yigle-Kaljob, MD, was appointed CEO of Triangle Springs, a behavioral health facility in Raleigh, N.C.
8. Benjamin Predum, Central Valley market president and CEO at Dignity Health, was named Central Coast market president.
9. Jim Bradley was named CEO of Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson, Calif.
10. Tom Parker stepped down Jan. 23 as CEO of Mammoth Hospital in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., after announcing his impending retirement.
11. Lisa DeKezel, BSN, RN, was named CEO of Ray County Hospital and Healthcare in Richmond, Mo.
12. Shane Sanborn was named CEO of Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho.
13. Todd Tamalunas was named interim CEO at Sharon (Pa.) Regional Health System.
14. Casey Fatch, CEO of Sharon (Pa.) Regional Health System, stepped into a newly created role as vice president of decision support at Tenor Health Foundation.

1. Adam Schreader, MSN, was named CEO of Erlanger East and Erlanger North Hospitals in Chattanooga, Tenn.
2. Troy Moore was named CEO of Ellinwood (Kan.) Hospital and Clinic.
3. Tom Hood was appointed interim CEO of Marysville, Kan.-based Community Memorial Healthcare.
4. Tom Parker plans to retire Oct. 2 as CEO of Mammoth Hospital in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.
5. Caitlin Lewis was named CEO of AdventHealth East Orlando (Fla.), effective Feb. 2.
6. Drew Citrin was appointed CEO of Atmore (Ala.) Community Hospital.
7. Tony Coleman will step down as CEO of Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health in Washington, D.C., effective March 13.

9. Rick Naegler was named regional CEO of Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare’s four hospitals in Missouri and Kansas.

2. Thomas Klemond, MD, stepped down as interim CEO of Minneapolis-based Hennepin Healthcare on Jan 13.
3. Shawn McKenzie will retire Nov. 30 as CEO of Chester, Calif.-based Seneca Healthcare District.
4. Brady Haynes, COO of Chester, Calif.-based Seneca Healthcare District, will become CEO on Dec. 1.
5. Patrick Kerrwood was named CEO of St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, Ill.
6. Ronnie Daves was appointed CEO of McLeod Health Clarendon in Manning, S.C.
7. Michael Mewhirter was named CEO of AdventHealth Celebration (Fla.), effective Feb. 2.
8. Adam Thunell was named CEO of Redlands (Calif.) Community Hospital.

1. Susan Sauder was named chief executive of Medford, Ore.-based Providence Southern Oregon Service Area.
2. Carolyn Jackson, CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree (Mass.), will exit her role to become president and COO of Kent Hospital in Warwick, R.I., effective Feb. 2.
3. Jonathan Kyriacou was named president and CEO of Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center, effective Jan. 26.
4. Amanda Vick, BSN, was named CEO of Lander, Wyo.-based SageWest Health Care.
5. Stephen Leffler, MD, was appointed CEO of Burlington-based University of Vermont Health after serving as interim CEO since October.
6. Marc Miller’s term as president and CEO of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services was extended through 2028.
